Terms of Service
Automatic Deliveries
Customers enrolled in Automatic Delivery must take a full fill on each delivery. Deliveries are scheduled using our system calculations, which factor in weather patterns and historical usage to help ensure you never run out.
Payment is due upon delivery. If a check payment is not received within 7 days, the credit card on file will be charged. Pricing is based on our daily C.O.D. price listed on the website and is subject to change.
All Automatic Delivery customers are required to keep a valid credit card on file. Credit cards are pre-authorized prior to each delivery.
Payment Terms
Payment is expected at the time of delivery. C.O.D. pricing applies to all C.O.D. deliveries. Customers may request email billing for convenience.
For customers paying by credit card, the card will be pre-authorized for the amount being delivered prior to delivery. Customers requesting a “fill” will be pre-authorized for a full tank. After delivery is completed and processed, any unused funds from the pre-authorization will be released. Depending on your bank or financial institution, pre-authorizations may take up to one week to settle.
In the event of non-payment, customers are responsible for reasonable collection costs, which may include a collection fee, attorney fees, court costs, and marshal fees. A $30 fee applies to each returned check, and a $50 fee applies to any check returned due to a stop-payment order. Post-dated checks are not accepted.
Interest of 1.5% per month (18% APR) will be applied to any balance unpaid after 30 days.
Oil Tanks and Oil Lines
Before your first delivery, Firehouse Fuels completes a visual safety inspection of your oil tank. This inspection is strictly observational, and Firehouse Fuels does not assume responsibility for the condition of any existing tanks or oil lines. Because these systems are owned by the customer, the customer remains responsible for any leaks, spills, or environmental issues, and agrees to hold Firehouse Fuels harmless for damages that result from tank or line failures.
For everyone’s safety, Firehouse Fuels will not deliver heating oil to any property without a properly working vent whistle. Firehouse Fuels LLC is also not responsible for issues related to vent piping, the heating system, the oil tank, or fill pipes.
New Propane Customers
All new propane customers are required to have a safety inspection completed before the first delivery is made. This ensures that your system meets current safety and performance standards and helps protect your home, family, and our delivery team. Customers who own their own propane tanks must also provide written confirmation that they are the legal owner and authorized to have the tank filled. In accordance with Connecticut law, propane companies are prohibited from filling tanks that are owned by another propane provider.
